That actually didn't occur to me until after I'd written it the first time; then I looked at it and said, "yep."
Do they actually sell phones prepaid like that? No registration needed? Maybe 10 years ago? I remember that in one of the Bourne films, he picks up a prepaid phone and uses it right away, which always felt unrealistic to me... the rest of the movie is of course extremely realistic, almost like a superman comic.
Sepp, yeah they do! I've seen them for sale at the mall: open the package and start calling. Also, remember this part of the story is set in 2005, so you'll be seeing some flip phones.... Thanks for the comment (and the others, too).
